This window depicts the jubilant promise of heaven for the faithful who have suffered persecution. As the angel looks upwards, her accompanying cherubs play the pipes and cymbals. The intricate design of their wings can be attributed to Frederick Wilson’s extensive study of birds and his commitment to authentic renderings of elements from the natural world. The swirling clouds at the figures’ feet hint that the composition is set in a heavenly domain.

This window is dedicated to Henrietta May Goddard Wigglesworth (1805-1895), who was a devoted member of Arlington Street Church for many years. She and her husband, Dr. Edward Wigglesworth (1804-1876) had seven children. This window was donated by her youngest daughter, noted philanthropist Henrietta Wigglesworth Holmes Fitz (1847-1929), who was the daughter-in-law of Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes and the director of the Elizabeth Peabody House.
